About Ryan – Founder

What’s up truck people!

Ryan here, founder of customtruckhelp.com. Just some do’s and don’ts I’ve come across over the years with my personal trucks and customer trucks. I’ve worked at several shops over the past 20 years or so and I’ve discovered some very common customer mistakes as well as shop mistakes. This knowledge saved me thousands! It could save you thousands too!

My Story

Life is too short to drive boring cars!

That’s my motto. I think you should be happy in your car, you should be excited to drive your car wherever you go. I could never find a new car or truck that I liked, still can’t. So I build my own or modify one that comes close to my expectations. My absolute favorite truck is my 1973 Chevy C30. 26 years I’ve had that truck. I alone am responsible for over 200,000 miles of its unknown true mileage, it’s been everywhere. It was the truck I learned on and it’s the truck I’m still learning on! In that 26 years, I eventually learned that there are sooooo many wrong ways to do something and only a few right ways. (free life lesson right there). I don’t know if it’s possible to try all the wrong ways, but I bet I’ve come pretty close.

Since I was the only one in my group of friends who was into cars, I didn’t get much help. And I was stubborn. I wanted to do everything myself. While I did learn from my mistakes, they also cost me BIG!

When a AAA driver shows up to haul away your broken truck and says ” I remember that truck!” you might want to ask for help.

My Mission

I’m here to educate those who want to find one of the few right ways to customize a truck, those who bought an already customized truck and are having issues, what to look for while test-driving custom trucks or whatever I can do to help you get the best out of your truck and your wallet.

I don’t want anyone to go through the stress and anger of avoidable breakdowns like I did. Although breakdowns will happen, it’s just part of the custom car world, I want to help keep your breakdowns minimal which saves you money and allows you to have more fun more often. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Failure is the path to greatness ( last free life lesson ). But keep your failures small.

My Goal

My goal here is to help prepare you for the least painful experience customizing your truck yourself or taking it to a shop. It really should be a fun experience either way. If you go the shop route, I want you to walk in there knowing what you want and knowing what to expect when you get it back. For the do it yourselfers, I want to build your confidence so you can have fun doing it and get you rolling as fast and safely as possible.

My goal is also to learn. More questions and scenarios will lead me to something I don’t know. WHEN that happens I will find an answer and learn something new in the process. Nobody knows everything about anything……even me 😉

We have a lot of stresses these days, your truck should not be one of them.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Ryan Bonebreak
